Michael David Hernandez was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 12th 1970 to Patricia (Patro) a Catholic grade school teacher and Richard Hernandez an Ohio phone Company employee. While growing up in Toledo he attended the Catholic grade school his Mother taught at. Soon after he went on to a public high school where he very much enjoyed more freedom than at the Catholic grade school he attended. After high school he attended The University of Toledo and went on to earn a degree in Marketing & sales.
After numerous sales jobs he realized that he
was born with a heart and could not sell to people who honestly did not need what he was selling. From there a friend said why don’t you go to The Second City? Which he replied, what is that? And informed him that it was the school to get on SNL. When finding this out he said to his friend, why the hell did you not tell me about this sooner. In which his friend replied I thought since you loved SNL so much you knew, being the funny little smart ass you already are. Soon after he attended The Second City in Detroit that was inside the Red Wings Hockey Town Cafe. He attended classes there for 5 years and while doing so landed some commercials. Needless to say Michael loved Second City and also being on local commercials. He went through two different agencies in Toledo and stuck with the one that encouraged him to go to New York, SB Entertainment. While going to New York with his Toledo agent he found three companies that were interested in representing him in New York. Being so overwhelmed that agencies were interested in him, he went with the first offer and signed with MMG.
In 2011, ten years after he originally wanted to move to NY he finally made it, to the Big Apple. When there he soon realized he had taken the next big step to reaching his goal of getting consistent work in Show Business. Since living in New York he has done some national commercials, numerous auditions and lots of background and featured extra gigs in movies and TV. His first gig when moving to NY was on the set of Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). As for TV he has worked background or featured extra on almost every show produced in town.
